Getting started

Mount your filespace.

01 · Install the client

One command, or the signed installer from your invite email. The client is a single small binary — no kernel extensions, no agents, no drama.

terminal
$ brew install --cask stone
==> stone 0.30 installed — a pleasure doing business

02 · Sign the device in

The client prints a short code and opens the browser. Approve it once — the device stays trusted until you say otherwise.

terminal
$ stone login
 Your code: MKRB-42QT
 Approve at https://stone.no/signin?code=MKRB-42QT
… approved. Welcome, robin@northlight.no

03 · Mount your filespace

A new drive appears in Finder or under your mount point. Browse everything instantly — bytes arrive only when you open a file.

terminal
$ stone mount ~/Stone
 northlight.stone.no mounted at ~/Stone
   38.2 TB visible · 0 bytes downloaded · all of it yours

04 · Drag something heavy in

Watch the dedup counter while it uploads. Then share the folder — your collaborator sees it the moment they look.

terminal
$ stone share ~/Stone/Delivery --with client@agency.com --read-only
 shared — they see it now, not after an upload bar

Full client reference, configuration and the glossary live in the documentation.
